The Lighthouses are crafted from two New Mexico ponderosa pines that grew in pace with one another in the same regional forest and were eventually felled together for lumber. To honor such a connection, these pieces have been made in each other’s likeness, for and of each other. Drawing from the concept of lighthouses, which are made to protect, beacon, warn, and search out into the vast unknown, this project explores a perpetual cycle borne of two that are created only to serve each other. A connection which, through mutuality and echo, becomes infinite.
